Amritsar: Students Clash With Security Guards at GNDU Over ID Check

Amritsar: An incident involving a physical altercation between students and security guards has come to light at Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar. A video of the entire incident is rapidly going viral on social media. In the viral video, several young men can be seen shoving and scuffling with a security guard. Following the emergence of the video, the university administration has initiated an inquiry into the matter.

Meanwhile, the public is strongly condemning the incident. When questioned about the matter, the Duty Officer stated that on Thursday (May 7), a university security guard had asked a group of students to produce their ID cards. A dispute ensued over this request. According to the Duty Officer, the students became agitated when asked for their IDs and proceeded to physically assault the security guard.

Allegations of the Guard Slapping a Student

On the other hand, sources suggest that during the heated argument, the security guard allegedly slapped one of the students. This further escalated tensions, and the situation quickly spiraled into chaos. The verbal altercation between the two parties intensified, eventually leading to a physical brawl.
