Goa: BJP Councillor’s Son Arrested in Minor Abuse Case

Panaji: The South Goa Police arrested 20-year-old Soham Sushant Naik in the early hours of Monday following massive public outrage over an alleged sex scandal involving 25 to 30 minor girls. Naik, a resident of Madegal-Cacora and son of a BJP Curchorem Municipal councillor, was taken into custody after locals and leaders staged protests outside the police station.

Disturbing Allegations Surface

The investigation points to a shocking pattern of abuse over the past three years. According to initial reports, the accused allegedly exploited multiple minors, recorded videos, and used them to threaten the victims into silence.

Videos Exposed, Tensions Escalate

The case came to light after Naik allegedly showed explicit videos to his friends during a social gathering. As news spread, anger grew across South Goa, leading to protests at the Kudchade police station demanding immediate action.

Residents had warned of a bandh if no action was taken, while Congress leader Amit Patkar demanded a fair and time-bound probe. Police are now examining digital evidence to determine the full extent of the case, while the accused remains in custody.
