The complainant stated that he has been employed in the Education Department for the past 33 years. On the morning of November 27, 2024, he was on duty at the school. Between 10:30 am and 11 am, he received a WhatsApp call from a foreign number.

Rs 50 Lakh Ransom Demand and Death Threats

When the caller answered, the person on the other end identified himself as a member of the Bambiha gang. He demanded 50 lakh rupees in ransom and threatened to kill him. The caller warned not to take this call lightly.

The caller threatened to kill her family members if the money wasn’t arranged. He also claimed to have complete information about her family.

Repeated Calls Triggered Fear and Police Complaint

This series of calls from the accused continued not just once, but several times that day, leaving him terrified. Six days later, he received another call on December 3rd while he was traveling in the village. Out of fear, he did not answer the call.

He was mentally disturbed the entire day. Finally, he told his family about the incident. After consulting with his family, he went to the Sri Muktsar Sahib police station and demanded strict legal action against the unknown person.
