Delhi Police Arrest Two Alleged Goldy Dhillon Gang Operatives, Recover Arms Cache

New Delhi: The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested two alleged operatives linked to the foreign-based Goldy Dhillon gang and recovered firearms, live cartridges, mobile phones and a motorcycle during a special operation, officials said on Saturday.

The arrests were made by the Anti-Robbery and Snatching Cell (ARSC) of the Crime Branch following an investigation into extortion calls allegedly made to businessmen by gangsters operating from abroad.

Two Punjab Residents Arrested

The arrested accused have been identified as Jatin Bhardwaj alias Nannu (28) and Sukhwinder Singh alias Bagga (28), both residents of Rajpura in Punjab.

According to police, the Crime Branch had been tracking cases involving extortion threats and social media posts claiming responsibility for such crimes. During the investigation, officers carried out extensive technical surveillance and field verification, identifying several suspects allegedly providing logistical support to foreign-based gangsters.

Investigators also found that some suspects were communicating with handlers abroad through encrypted messaging applications such as Zangi and Signal.

Trap Laid in Rohini

Police said they received specific intelligence on June 24 that Jatin Bhardwaj would be visiting Delhi’s Rohini area. Acting on the information, the Crime Branch laid a trap and apprehended him at around 10:50 p.m.

A semi-automatic .32 bore pistol and four live cartridges were allegedly recovered from his possession. Following his arrest, police traced the source of the weapon to Sukhwinder Singh, who was subsequently arrested.

A country-made pistol and two live cartridges were recovered based on information provided by Sukhwinder, police said.

Criminal Background of the Accused

According to investigators, Jatin Bhardwaj is a suspected associate of the Goldy Dhillon gang and has previous criminal cases related to theft, burglary, snatching, the Arms Act and the NDPS Act registered in Punjab and Haryana between 2014 and 2025.

Police alleged that Sukhwinder Singh, described as a childhood friend of Goldy Dhillon, provided logistical support and safe hideouts to members of the gang. He is also facing several criminal cases, including those related to theft, burglary, the Arms Act and the NDPS Act, registered in Punjab between 2016 and 2025.

Arms and Other Items Seized

During the operation, the crime branch recovered the following:

• One semi-automatic .32 bore pistol
• One country-made pistol
• Six live cartridges
• Four mobile phones
• One motorcycle

The recovered weapons and other seized items have been sent for further examination as part of the ongoing investigation.

Probe Into Goldy Dhillon Syndicate

Police alleged that the Goldy Dhillon syndicate has been attempting to establish dominance over the illegal arms and narcotics trade in Punjab through intimidation, threats and violence carried out by its associates.

Investigators believe the gang has sought to control the supply chain of illegal weapons and narcotic substances by forcing local criminals and drug peddlers to operate under its influence.

Officials also noted that Goldy Dhillon’s name recently surfaced during the investigation into the murder of a medical store manager in Chandigarh, with investigators examining possible links between that case and the activities of the alleged criminal syndicate.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
