Delivery in Government Hospital Parking Lot by Torchlight: Woman Gives Birth After Emergency Gate Found Closed

A major negligence of the Health Department has come to light at the Reproductive and Child Health Center FRU-2 in Faridabad city. Due to the nursing staff not arriving on time, a pregnant woman had to deliver not inside the hospital, but in the hospital parking lot. This incident is reported to have occurred around 2 a.m. on the night of the 15th-16th.

According to the relatives, Chaman Chandila brought Balesh, the wife of his elder cousin, to FRU-2 Health Center for delivery around 1:30 a.m. They stated that when they arrived at the hospital, the main gate was closed, and no staff were present in the emergency ward either. The woman was in severe pain and was not in a condition to walk. In such a situation, the relatives themselves arrived with a wheelchair, but for a long time, no nurse or doctor was found.

No hospital staff arrived

Chaman Chandila stated that his mother was also present with him. When no hospital staff arrived for a long time and the woman’s condition began to worsen, out of necessity they had to have the delivery done in the parking area by his mother. The family says that if the delivery had not been done at that time, both the mother and the child’s live could have been in danger.

The woman’s husband, Devendra Chandila, also leveled serious accusations against the hospital’s nursing staff. He said that if his younger mother had not had the delivery on time, a major accident could have occurred. He stated that this entire incident is the result of the negligence of the hospital’s nursing staff.

Deputy Civil Surgeon NHM Dr. Rachna said that a case of a woman giving birth in the parking area at the Reproductive and Health Center FRU2 located in Sector 3 has come to notice. She said that the woman had arrived at the hospital in a critical condition. The family members had gone upstairs to call the staff nurse, and it took her 5-7 minutes to reach there because she was carrying her glasses and equipment.

During this time, the woman gave birth in the parking area, but still the staff nurse performed whatever tasks were necessary there and then brought the mother and baby to the ward and admitted them. Any negligence found in this matter will be acted upon.
