UP: Mentally Unwell Son Stabs Mother in Greater Noida, Later Dies by Committing Suicide

Greater Noida: In a tragic incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida, a 21-year-old man allegedly stabbed his mother following a domestic dispute and later died by suicide after jumping from the fifth floor of his residential building, police said on Saturday.

Police Say Youth Was Mentally Unwell

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Noida) Swatantra Kumar Singh said that Bisrakh police received information that a resident of Radha Sky Gardens Society had jumped from his flat on Friday.

“Upon reaching the site, the police found that the victim, identified as Sagar Yadav, was mentally unwell. He had got into an argument with his mother which escalated, after which he picked up a knife and attacked her,” the officer said.

Mother Sustains Minor Injuries

Police confirmed that the mother sustained minor injuries and is now in stable condition. Officials added that the situation escalated quickly after the argument inside the flat.

Youth Jumps from Fifth Floor

According to police, the youth jumped from his fifth-floor apartment shortly after the incident and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

“We have taken his body into custody and post-mortem procedures are being conducted,” ADCP Singh said.

Investigation Underway

Police have initiated further investigation to determine the exact sequence of events and the mental health condition of the accused.

The incident has shocked residents of the society, raising concerns over mental health awareness and domestic conflict resolution.
