Guiding today’s youth is essential

The rebellious voice of youth power, which has emerged in the form of massive public awareness campaigns in some countries over the past year or two, cannot be ignored. This youth demographic is referred to as Gen-Z and Gen-Alpha. Gen-Z are young people born between 1997 and 2012. Gen-Alpha is the generation coming after them, born between 2010 and 2024. These new generations have been born in the era of social media, digital awakening, and artificial intelligence.

This generation’s thinking is not traditional, and they lack patience for old ways. Despite politicians’ attempts to mislead them, youth-driven change persists, as seen recently in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Facing internal conflict and economic despair, Pakistan’s population is tired, anticipating that Gen-Z and Gen-Alpha may lead a movement for change.

Frustrated by political change, corruption, unemployment, and the lack of dream islands in their lives, this generation is raising voices of protest, but it’s not always correct that this protest is futile. Consider India. One of India’s distinctive features is its vast market demand, which neither the rich countries of the West nor the Russian bloc can ignore.

To capture this demand, the US has waged a proxy war with Russia and India in the name of a tariff war. But if we recognize the reality, we must recognize that the power of the future young generation, Gen-Z and Gen-Alpha, will bring about significant change in the coming years. First, let’s take India. Parents here have a traditional lifestyle and conservative values; they cannot tolerate this new generation. Look at their clothing, their eating habits, and how much they have changed.

Growing understanding and confidence allow this generation to challenge parental expectations, such as career choices. With digital advances like artificial intelligence shaping society, it is wrong to assume that the new generation will always go astray.
If this youthful generation receives the right guidance, it will not take long for our dreams of nation-building to be fulfilled. Clearly, this true path lies in recognizing the power of youth and providing them with the right role models. These role models can be provided by teachers, scientists, and emerging youth leaders. Recently, in Jalandhar, some young people openly eliminated small garbage dumps. The true path is Zen-ji, which can paint everything from politics to the social environment in a new color. A new color that is not irrational.
