Pahalgam Terror Case: Leaders Demand Strict Punishment as NIA Files Charge Sheet

New Delhi: With the National Investigation Agency (NIA) set to file its charge sheet in the Pahalgam terror attack case, leaders across party lines on Monday called for strict action against those responsible, saying the incident had shaken the entire nation.

‘Guilty Must Be Punished’: BJP, JD(U) React
BJP leader Dilip Jaiswal termed the charge sheet a crucial step towards justice, stressing that the perpetrators must be identified and punished strictly.
BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj said India had given a firm response to the attack, asserting that the country would not bow to terror or external pressure.
JD(U) leader Ashok Choudhary added that once the charge sheet is filed, the law should be allowed to take its course and action must follow accordingly.

Congress, SP Raise Accountability, Security Questions
Congress MP Sukhdeo Bhagat described the attack as deeply tragic and said accountability should go beyond filing charge sheets, urging a review of security lapses despite a three-tier arrangement.
Samajwadi Party MP Rajeev Kumar Rai questioned the preparedness of security agencies, alleging delayed response and lack of awareness about the resumption of tourism in the area.

About the Pahalgam Attack
On April 22, terrorists struck Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, targeting tourists. The attackers allegedly questioned victims about their religion before opening fire, killing 25 tourists and a pony rider, triggering nationwide outrage.
