CM Patel Unveils Regional Economic Master Plan at Vibrant Gujarat Conference

Mehsana: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Friday inaugurated the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Mehsana and unveiled the Regional Economic Master Plan covering six key economic zones — North Gujarat, Kutch, Central Gujarat, Saurashtra, Coastal Saurashtra, and Surat.

$3.5 Trillion Target for Gujarat’s Economy

The master plans aim to expand Gujarat’s economy from USD 280 billion (FY 2023) to over USD 3.5 trillion through balanced growth across all 33 districts. More than Rs 15 lakh crore of public and private investment across 500+ projects has been mapped under the initiative.

The plans are expected to generate 28 million new jobs. To prepare youth for these opportunities, Regional Skilling Centres and Centres of Excellence will be set up in partnership with industries, focusing on Green Skills, Blue Economy, Logistics, and AI.

Sectoral Growth Drivers

• Advanced Manufacturing: Focus on EVs, battery storage, marine chemicals, biologics, ceramics, and biofuels.

• Services: Share of services to rise to 51% by 2047, with growth in GCCs, clinical research, logistics, BFSI, and product design.

• Tourism: Boost through medical value travel, heritage, eco-tourism, cruise tourism, and spiritual & wellness tourism.

• Blue Economy: Gujarat’s 2,240 km coastline to be leveraged for shipbuilding, fish processing, port logistics, and maritime tourism.

• Rural & Sustainable Development: Agro-processing, dairy innovation, Agri-tech, nutraceuticals, renewable energy, and green manufacturing to strengthen the rural economy.

Infrastructure Backbone

The long-term plan includes coastal railways, high-speed inter-state rail corridors, and sea-link projects, alongside airport expansions, new cargo terminals, and cold-chain facilities to support efficient logistics.
