Barnala: A firing incident was reported outside Punjabi singer Gulab Sidhu’s ancestral house in Barnala late Saturday night, with around seven to eight rounds allegedly fired at the property. No one was injured in the incident.
The incident reportedly took place between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. Several bullets hit the gate of the house.
CCTV Shows Three Assailants Opening Fire
CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced on social media. In one of the videos, three youths can be seen arriving near the house on a motorcycle.
The youth sitting in the middle appears to load a pistol before opening fire. The person riding behind him also fires shots, while the motorcycle driver appears to record the incident.
According to the available information, around seven to eight rounds were fired during the attack. The bullets reportedly struck the gate of the house, but no one sustained injuries.
Gulab Sidhu Was Abroad During Firing
The firing comes against the backdrop of earlier alleged extortion and death threats received by singer Gulab Sidhu from some individuals.
However, Gulab Sidhu was not present at his ancestral home when the firing took place. According to his family, the singer is currently abroad for music shows and events.
Earlier, on January 10, 2026, Barnala Police had arrested three accused for allegedly attempting to attack Gulab Sidhu. The alleged main conspirator was Baljinder Singh, also known as Kinda, the sarpanch of Kotduna village.
Police Begin Investigation
After being informed about the firing, Sadar Police reached the spot and inspected the area. Police officials confirmed that firing had taken place.
Investigators are examining CCTV cameras installed in nearby streets and along the main roads of the village to identify the attackers.
Police officials said the case is being investigated from all angles. After forensic evidence is collected, strict legal action will be taken against the unidentified attackers.
