Gulf War: Lack of Trust on Both Sides

It’s been 50 days since the devastating war between Iran, the United States, and Israel in West Asia. This war has caused immense devastation and has led to significant economic collapse for the countries involved due to the strategic and economic blockade.

However, over the past few days, America’s outspoken President, Donald Trump, has been issuing new statements daily. Trump has been enthusiastically proclaiming that this war will end after peace talks with Iran, and that the United States has delivered this peace message by securing the acceptance of all its conditions and achieving victory.

But Iran is calling this a blatant lie. Iran has already expressed its opposition by threatening to open and then close the Strait of

Hormuz. Now, Pakistani Army Chief Asif Munir and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif have become active again, and there is news that the second round of peace talks may take place in Islamabad on Monday. Trump also said that if the peace talks are successful, he himself may visit Islamabad. On the other hand, Iran has not given any explicit support to these statements that it is enthusiastic about the peace talks. It still says that it does not trust America at all.Trump continues to lie one after another. Iran has not promised to share its uranium with the US, but has instead demanded full compensation for the losses incurred in the war. Meanwhile, the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, initiated by the US, is proving to be temporary. Israel has admitted that it took action against Hezbollah in self-defense.

Israel is vowing to wipe out Hezbollah. At present, no positive situation appears to be developing, and the return of Lebanon’s displaced people has become discouraged. In such circumstances, there is still hope that the second round of peace talks between the two sides will begin in Islamabad on Monday. We believe the reason behind this is that the devastation has become so severe that continuing this war is becoming unbearable for both sides. However, both sides are unwilling to back down from their aggressive stances. Efforts by countries like Saudi Arabia to facilitate peace talks between the two sides do not appear to be successful. Only time will tell what the outcome of this war will be, but the people suffering from the war are holding their breaths on the outcome of the next talks
