Gunfire at Former Shiv Sena Leader Kuljit Basra’s House in Phagwara

Kapurthala, Punjab: In a recent incident, some youths opened fire at the house of former Shiv Sena leader Kuljit Basra in Palahi Gate area of Phagwara subdivision of Kapurthala last night. Two youths present in the house at the time of the incident somehow managed to save their lives by hiding inside.

Kuljeet Basra told the police that he had an argument with Aatish alias Dhoda, a resident of Palahi Gate, over the mobile phone at night. A few minutes later, Aatish, Rahul Khan and 3-4 other unidentified persons arrived at his house. These people started firing at the house.

Kuljeet was on the first floor of the house at the time of the incident. His two friends Abhi Sethi and Rohit saved their lives by hiding inside the house. When noise was made, the attackers fled.

Police is investigating the matter

As soon as the information was received, SHO of City Police Station Usha Rani reached the spot with the police team. She took stock of the incident. Police have registered a case against Aatish alias Dhoda, Rahul Khan and other unknown people under various sections. Police are making efforts to arrest the accused.
