Gurugram: Chaos erupted in the posh Civil Lines area of Gurugram when a young man from Delhi suddenly created a scene in the middle of the road. He began shouting loudly, “They will shoot me, they will shoot me!” Passersby were alarmed by his screams, and a large crowd quickly gathered at the scene.
A young woman was with him, and she was terrified by his behaviour. Driven by fear, the man repeatedly tried to hide behind her for protection. Overcome by panic and a loss of mental stability, he sat there for a long time, clutching the woman tightly in his arms. Witnessing this bizarre and frightening spectacle, onlookers feared that the situation might be linked to a serious crime.

Police Rush to Civil Lines After Young Man Creates Chaos
The drama continued even after the police arrived.
Locals immediately reported the incident to the control room. Upon receiving the information, teams from the Civil Lines police station and PCR units rushed to the scene. Police personnel tried to calm the man down and secure him, but his fear showed no signs of subsiding.
Even upon seeing the police, he kept shouting that his life was in danger and that someone was going to kill him.
Family Reveals Reason Behind His Condition
When the efforts of the police and the woman to reason with him failed, the woman showed presence of mind. She used the man’s mobile phone to call his family, informed them of the situation, and asked them to come to Gurugram. Upon receiving the news, his family rushed from Uttam Nagar, Delhi, to Civil Lines.
They informed the police officers and the crowd present at the scene that the young man was suffering from mental health issues. He had been grappling with severe mental stress and illness for some time and was undergoing regular medical treatment.
According to his family, he had left home stating he was going to Gurugram for some work. However, his mental condition suddenly deteriorated en route, and he became convinced that someone was trying to kill him.
Police Hand Him Over Safely to Family
Confirming the incident, Sukhbir Singh, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Civil Lines Police Station, stated that they received a report about a young man creating a commotion and claiming his life was in danger. A police team rushed to the scene immediately. Preliminary investigation and questioning revealed that the young man was a resident of Delhi and was suffering from mental illness.
The young man’s family arrived at the scene and presented documents related to his treatment and medical history to the police. Subsequently, after completing the necessary formalities, the police safely handed him over to his parents and relatives.
The family expressed their gratitude for the police’s prompt action and cooperation, bringing an end to the high-voltage drama and tense atmosphere that had prevailed in the area for two to three hours.
