The Union Minister of State will lay the foundation stone of development projects worth ₹ 282 crore on the Gurugram-Jaipur section of NH-48 today at the Apparel House in Sector 44, Gurugram. During this, Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways and Corporate Affairs, Government of India, Harsh Malhotra will also be present.
These projects will not only provide relief from traffic jams between Gurugram and Jaipur, but will also create a safe, convenient and environment-friendly traffic system. The projects to be laid include extensive improvement of service roads, new construction and development of road safety measures on a 58.8 km long section at a cost of about ₹ 267 crore.
Four new flyovers will be built
Four new flyovers will be built at Pachgaon Chowk, Rathivas, near Hero Company and Sahalwas, which will prove to be a milestone in getting rid of traffic jams. Along with this, 2.26 km new service road, 7.2 km PQC road and 30.95 km long road will be upgraded.
RCC drains to prevent waterlogging
Under the project, 18.05 km of new RCC drains will be constructed to permanently eliminate the problem of waterlogging and 40.64 km of existing open drains will be covered and strengthened. Groundwater recharge will be promoted through rainwater harvesting structures every 500 meters.
These measures for road safety
For road safety, 32 new entry exit points, 2,475 signboards, 800 delineators, 29,613 road studs, 34 traffic impact attenuators and 3 high-mast lights will be installed. Also, keeping in mind environmental protection, 15,000 trees will be planted.
