Gurugram NH Collision: Two Trucks Crash, One Driver Killed, Another Injured

On the National Highway (NH-48) in Gurugram, near Rathivans Mor, a speeding truck collided with the truck driver from behind. In this accident, the truck driver died, while the person sitting with him was seriously injured.

42-year-old Mahender Kumar, a resident of Pragpura in Kotputli-Bahroor, Rajasthan, told the police that he works as a storekeeper at Kamdhenu Cement Plant in Sonia Vihar, Delhi.

On Tuesday morning, around 4:00 a.m., after finishing his duty, he was waiting outside the plant for a vehicle to go home. During this time, he parked an empty trolley and truck near the Shriram plant and requested the driver to drop him off at Kotputli. The driver took him in the truck. During the journey, the driver introduced himself as Ram Singh from Pachodala (Kotputli).

The brakes suddenly hit the back, and the trolley entered from behind.

According to Mahinder, when their trolley reached near Rathivās turn in the Bilaspur police station area of Gurugram, flyover construction work was going on there. Another trolley was moving right along with their trolley. The unknown driver was driving his vehicle at very high speed and carelessly, repeatedly applying sudden brakes on the way.

The unknown driver suddenly applied a strong brake again near the Rathivās turn. Due to the speed, Ram Singh’s trolley behind went out of control and directly collided with the trolley in front. The collision was so severe that Mahinder Kumar suffered serious blows to his head, while the driver, Ram Singh, received serious blows on both legs and chest. He was badly trapped inside the cabin.

The driver was declared dead.

Immediately after the accident, there was commotion at the spot. Passersby and local people promptly informed an ambulance and, after much effort, extracted both the injured from the vehicle. Both were immediately taken to Astha Hospital at Bilaspur Chowk. There, doctors admitted Mahinder Kumar for treatment, while the driver Ram Singh was declared dead after examination.

The police are investigating the case.

As soon as the news of the incident was received, the Bilaspur police station team reached the hospital and the accident site. The police have sent the deceased’s body for postmortem. A case has been registered against the unidentified truck driver under sections related to rash and negligent driving causing death. The police are searching for the runaway truck driver responsible for the accident and are examining CCTV cameras installed on the highway.
