Young Woman’s Body Recovered from Bushes Along NH-48 in Gurugram

The dead body of a woman has been found in the bushes of the service lane near IFFCO Chowk on the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway (NH-48) in Gurugram. The age of the deceased is about 30 years. In the initial investigation, some injury marks were found on the woman’s body, due to which many fears were being raised at the local level. However, the police have denied murder in this case.

The body was recovered when engineers and employees of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) were working on the land marking for the Rapid Rail Corridor. During the work, the employees noticed a strong smell from the bushes, after which they went closer and saw a rotten corpse lying there. The staff immediately informed the police control room.

As soon as the information was received, a team of Sector-29 police station and forensic experts reached the spot. The police took the body and sent it to the mortuary of the civil hospital for postmortem. Regarding the initial investigation and the marks of injury, police officials say that this case does not seem to be a case of murder.

The cause of the injury is not yet clear.

According to the police, it could be due to a road accident or falling in the bushes. Because in the initial investigation, these injuries do not seem to be such that anyone can die. The real cause of the woman’s death will be clear only after the postmortem report.

The saree was found strewn on the legs.

The woman’s saree was found strewn in suspicious condition at the spot. Which is slid from the upper part of the body towards the legs. While a large part of the saree is lying in the ground. Chances are that an animal disheveled her clothes. However, during the investigation, the forensic team has collected biological evidence present on the saree. Also, the pattern of mud and dry grass on the clothes is also being analysed to see if there was any tampering with the scene or if the woman was dragged.

Obscure tattoo on the arm

According to the police, the deceased has some indistinct tattoos on her hand. These tattoos are not fully understood due to the aging of the corpse and the decay of the skin.

The investigation team is now taking the help of forensic experts to clean the texture of these tattoos. The police believe that through these tattoos, the identity of the woman will be possible soon. Police stations in nearby states are also being contacted for identification.

The identity of the woman is yet to be ascertained, Station House Officer (SHO) of Sector 29 police station Satendra said. The police are scanning the records of missing persons registered in the surrounding districts and police stations. Along with this, the footage of CCTV cameras installed on the service lane of IFFCO Chowk and the highway is also being examined to ascertain the exact time and circumstances of the woman’s arrival
