Gurugram Murder: Youth Shot Dead In Broad Daylight, Three Bike-Borne Assailants Flee

Gurugram: A young man was shot dead in broad daylight in the middle of a road in Gurugram on Thursday, triggering panic in the market area and causing a traffic jam. Three bike-borne assailants allegedly followed the victim, forced him to stop and shot him multiple times at close range before fleeing the spot.

The deceased has been identified as Mahendra, a resident of Basai village.

According to the available information, Mahendra was riding his motorcycle and was on his way to attend to some work when three men riding a Pulsar motorcycle approached him from behind. The assailants allegedly forced him to stop and fired at his abdomen from close range.

Mahendra collapsed on the road after being shot. The attackers immediately fled from the spot.

Gurugram Youth Shot Dead On Road, Panic In Market Area

The shooting in the middle of the road caused panic among people in the market area. A traffic jam also developed following the incident.

Passersby and shopkeepers informed the police control room about the shooting. A police team reached the spot shortly afterwards and rushed the critically injured Mahendra to Civil Hospital in Sector-10.

Doctors at the hospital declared him dead.

Police subsequently secured the crime scene using poles and crates as they began gathering evidence and investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The traffic jam caused by the incident was also cleared.

Three Bike-Borne Assailants Flee After Shooting

According to eyewitness accounts, the three accused approached Mahendra from behind while he was riding his motorcycle.

They allegedly forced him to stop before one of the assailants pulled out a pistol and fired at him at point-blank range. Mahendra fell from his motorcycle after sustaining the gunshot injury, while the accused fled from the scene on their bike.

Police are examining the circumstances of the attack and gathering information from people who witnessed the incident.

Mahendra’s family members reached the hospital after being informed about the murder. Police are also questioning the family as part of the investigation.

Old Enmity Angle Being Probed In Gurugram Murder

A possible old-enmity angle has also emerged during the initial inquiry.

According to family members, Mahendra had a dispute with some people in January, and they suspect that the murder could be linked to that earlier dispute.

However, the circumstances and motive behind the killing are still being investigated. Police are gathering information about the alleged previous dispute and the people who may have been involved.

The identities and whereabouts of the three bike-borne assailants are yet to be established, and further details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
