Gym trainer’s car fired upon in Patiala; police begins probe

Shots were allegedly fired at a gym trainer’s car in the SST Nagar area of ​​Patiala. The trainer, Simar, who was returning home from the gym, narrowly escaped the attack and was not hit by any bullets. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation.

The victim, Simar, told the police that he was driving home from the gym when a group of youths in a Toyota Fortuner—bearing a Uttar Pradesh registration number—began following him.

It is alleged that the occupants of the Fortuner first rammed into his car and then ordered him to stop and step out of the vehicle.

Victim says he did not step out, sensing the danger

Simar stated that, sensing the danger, he did not step out of his car. Subsequently, the occupants of the Fortuner allegedly fired shots into the air before aiming and firing at his car. However, Simar was not hit and escaped unharmed.

Simar also alleged that some of the individuals in the Fortuner were wearing police-like uniforms. After carrying out the attack, the accused fled the scene in the Uttar Pradesh-registered Fortuner. A police team inspected the site and has launched an investigation.

The police are examining footage from nearby CCTV cameras and attempting to identify the Fortuner involved. Officials stated that the allegations made by the victim have not yet been independently verified. The actual motive behind the incident and the identities of the accused will only become clear once the investigation is complete.
