    Pakistan cricketer Haider Ali arrested in UK on rape charges, Suspended by PCB

    Pakistan’s young batsman Haider Ali has been arrested on charges of rape in England. The incident took place on August 3, information has come to light now. According to a report by Telecom Asia Sports, 24-year-old batsman Haider is a part of the Pakistan A team (Pakistan Shaheen).

    On August 3, he was playing a match against MCSAC (Melbourne Cricket Club team) at the Canterbury Ground. Then the Greater Manchester Police arrested him from the ground itself. Later he was released on bail, but his passport has been confiscated so that he cannot leave the country.

    After this incident came to light, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended Haider Ali for the time being. According to the report, ‘The girl who accused Haider of rape is of Pakistani origin.

    Pakistan Cricket Board will provide legal help to Haider

    A spokesperson for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said, “We have been informed about the arrest. Haider has been suspended till the investigation is completed, and we will conduct our investigation in the UK. The board will provide legal help to Haider in this difficult time.”

    The Pakistan A team was on a UK tour from July 17 to August 6.

    This incident may make Haider Ali’s return to international cricket difficult. He played his last T20 for Pakistan in 2023. Pakistan team’s T20 and ODI team coach Mike Hesson was planning to bring Haider back for the T20 tri-series to be held in Sharjah this month. Hesson was impressed with Haider’s form and attitude during the UK tour. This incident has now put his career in serious danger

    Haider Ali has been in controversy before

    Haider’s career has been in controversy before. He broke the COVID-19 protocols during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) held in Abu Dhabi in 2021, due to which he was ruled out of the tour of England and West Indies.
