Hampton Sky Realty Rejects ED Allegations, Defends Mobile Export Business

New Delhi: Hampton Sky Realty Limited, formerly known as Ritesh Properties and Industries Limited, on Friday issued a detailed press statement defending its mobile-phone export operations and asserting that all transactions carried out by the company were genuine, fully documented, and conducted through legal banking channels.

The statement comes in the backdrop of recent proceedings initiated by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED).

The company said it has “complete faith in the established facts of the case, in the legal and constitutional framework of the country, and in the wisdom of the Hon’ble Judiciary.”

Company Says Mobile Exports Were Fully Verified by Authorities

According to the company, it entered the mobile-phone export business in May 2023 after the Government of India identified mobile-phone manufacturing and exports as a flagship sector under the “Make in India” initiative and the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.

The company stated that during the export period, it exported 44,471 units of branded handsets and accessories, including Apple iPhones, AirPods, Samsung and OnePlus devices.

It claimed that every export consignment underwent multiple levels of independent verification, including:

    • Customs physical examination at ACC New Delhi
    • IMEI scanning through the ICEGATE system
    • Cross-verification by manufacturers like Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics
    • Verification of exports through UAE Customs
    • Bank Realisation Certificates issued through authorised banking channels

The company maintained that OEM verification confirmed exported devices were genuine handsets activated outside India after export.

IMEI Verification Establishes Authenticity of Exports: Company

In its statement, Hampton Sky Realty stressed that the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) numbers attached to each handset established the authenticity of exports beyond doubt.

“The 16,391 IMEIs of handsets exported by the Company stand independently verified by the OEMs as genuine handsets activated outside India after export,” the company said.

It added that IMEI verification is conducted through global activation databases maintained by manufacturers and “is not capable of being created, altered or manipulated by any Indian party.”

‘No Round-Tripping, No Offshore Retention of Funds’

The company further claimed that all export proceeds were received through authorised dealer banking channels and fully paid to domestic suppliers through traceable transactions.

“Nothing has been retained off-shore, kept in any concealed account, or routed back to any individual or entity,” the statement said.

Calling allegations of “round-tripping” baseless, the company argued that no economic basis exists for such accusations because no export proceeds were diverted or retained.

“The receipt-and-payment trail is open, banking-channel and fully reconciled,” it added.

Company Claims It Was Victim of Supplier-Side GST Fraud

Addressing concerns related to Goods and Services Tax (GST) input tax credit, the company said the issues pertained only to a small number of domestic suppliers.

It stated that all supplier payments were made legally through banking channels and GST was duly charged and reflected in official filings.

The company also disclosed that it had itself approached police authorities after discovering alleged supplier-side fraud.

According to the statement, FIR No. 0083 dated May 17, 2025, was lodged at Police Station Focal Point in Ludhiana against:

    • M/s SK Enterprises
    • M/s Global Traders
    • M/s GMG Tradelink Private Limited

The complaint was filed under provisions of the Indian Penal Code.

“The Company is the victim of the alleged supplier-side fraud and proactively reported the matter to law-enforcement authorities approximately one year ago, well before any investigative pressure,” the statement said.

Company Says No Loss Has Been Caused to Government Exchequer

Hampton Sky Realty also stated that wherever GST authorities raised concerns regarding input tax credit, the corresponding GST amount had already been deposited and was being challenged before the GST Appellate Authority through lawful appeals.

“There is no current loss to the Government exchequer on account of the Company’s transactions,” it said.

    Company Reiterates Faith in Judiciary

Concluding the statement, the company said it is fully cooperating with all statutory authorities and would continue placing relevant documents and records before appropriate legal forums.

“The Company has complete faith in the established facts of the case, in the integrity of its statutory records, and in the wisdom of the Hon’ble Judiciary. The Company is confident that the truth will prevail,” the statement added.
