Hansi-Bhiwani Highway Car Fire: Driver Escapes as Swift Dzire Gutted in Flames

Bhiwani: A major accident was averted on the Hansi-Bhiwani National Highway near Dhana Kalan on Friday night after a Swift Dzire car suddenly caught fire while it was being driven. The driver managed to jump out of the vehicle in time and escaped unhurt.

Smoke suddenly began emerging from the dashboard of the moving car. The driver pulled the vehicle over to the roadside, but before he could open the bonnet, flames erupted from the engine.

Within moments, the fire spread throughout the car, completely destroying it.

According to reports, Rakesh Kumar, a resident of Bawani Khera, was travelling in his Swift Dzire to his in-laws’ house in Mirzapur.

At around 8:15 pm, he reached a spot near Dhana Kalan on the Hansi-Delhi National Highway when he noticed smoke coming from the dashboard.

Rakesh immediately stopped the car on the roadside and tried to open the bonnet. However, the bonnet would not open.

Soon after, flames suddenly erupted from the engine. The fire rapidly spread and engulfed the entire vehicle.

Rakesh said he was alone in the car when the incident occurred. He immediately informed the Dial-112 emergency service about the fire.

Fire brigade brings blaze under control

After receiving the information, the Dial-112 team and the fire brigade reached the spot.

Firefighters made considerable efforts to control the flames. However, by the time the fire was brought under control, the car had been completely gutted.

Fire operators Rahul and Sunil Kumar said they had received information about a car fire and rushed to the location. When they arrived, the flames had already engulfed the entire vehicle.

Fortunately, Rakesh Kumar managed to get out of the car before the fire spread completely, saving his life.

The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Authorities are looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
