Hansi Gym Owner Murder: Lawrence Gang Alleges Police Encounter Was ‘Fake’, Claims CCTV Evidence

Hansi: Nearly 25 days after the murder of Hansi gym owner Kapil Redhu, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has alleged that the police encounter in which the two prime accused were killed was staged. The claims were made in a social media post by alleged gang member Sundar Takla, who accused the police of falsely portraying the operation as an encounter.

What Sundar Takla Claimed

In his social media post, Sundar Takla alleged that the two accused, who were brothers, were picked up by police from Kerala and later brought to Haryana before being shown as having been killed in an encounter.

He claimed the gang possesses CCTV footage that allegedly shows the accused being detained in Kerala. Takla further alleged that neither of the two was carrying a weapon at the time of the encounter.

He also claimed that the weapon used in the murder of Kapil Redhu was already in the custody of the Hansi CIA-2 unit, questioning the police’s version that the accused opened fire first, forcing officers to retaliate in self-defence. These allegations have not been independently verified.

What Happened in the Case

Kapil Redhu, a 25-year-old gym owner, was shot dead in Hansi around 25 days ago when unidentified assailants opened fire on him. A young woman was also injured in the attack.

Within hours of the murder, Harry Boxer, another alleged member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the killing through a social media post. Police subsequently launched a manhunt for the two alleged shooters.

The two accused were later killed in a joint police operation. According to the police, the suspects allegedly opened fire on the police team during the operation, prompting officers to return fire in self-defence. The police described the incident as a legitimate encounter.

Police Yet to Respond

As of now, Haryana Police has not issued any official response to the fresh allegations made by Sundar Takla regarding the encounter.

The claims made in the social media post remain unverified, and there is no official confirmation supporting the allegation that the accused were detained from Kerala before the encounter.
