    Hansi: Married Woman Found Hanging, Leaves Infant Son behind
    Hansi, April 11: In the village of Jamawadi in the Hansi district, a 25-year-old married woman committed suicide by hanging herself. The deceased has been identified as Preeti, a mother of a one-year-old child. Following the incident, the woman’s natal family has accused her in-laws of harassing and physically assaulting her over dowry demands.

    Dowry harassment and abuse alleged by father

    In a complaint filed with the police, Preeti’s father, Omprakash, stated that he had arranged his daughter Preeti’s marriage to Sonu, a resident of Jamawadi village, on November 29, 2023. According to the complaint, ever since the marriage took place, her in-laws had been harassing Preeti for dowry and subjecting her to physical abuse.
    Married Woman Assaulted Over Demand for Five Lakh Rupees
    The complaint further alleges that in March, her in-laws physically assaulted Preeti while demanding a sum of ₹5 lakh. Subsequently, on the evening of April 10, around 6:00 PM, the family received information that Preeti had committed suicide by hanging herself.

    Body found hanging; police and forensic team investigate

    When family members arrived at the scene, they found Preeti’s body hanging from a fan. Upon receiving the information, the Dial 112 police team reached the crime scene. A forensic team was summoned, and necessary evidence was collected. Subsequently, the body was placed in the mortuary of the General Hospital in Hansi for a post-mortem examination.
    Case Registered Against Six Individuals, Including the Husband
    Based on a complaint filed by the deceased woman’s father, the police have registered a case under various sections against six individuals including her husband Sonu, elder brother-in-law Anoop, sisters-in-law Reena and Barfi, father-in-law Ramkumar and elder sister-in-law Sonam and have initiated an investigation.
