Groom Dies 3 Days Before Wedding In Hanumangarh After Sleeper Bus Hits Bike, Drags Him 500 Metres

Hanumangarh, Rajasthan: A 25-year-old man died in a tragic road accident in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district just three days before his wedding, after a speeding sleeper bus allegedly hit his motorcycle and dragged him along the road for nearly 500 metres.

The deceased, identified as Radheshyam Nayak, was travelling to Pallu early on September 2 to distribute wedding invitations when the accident occurred. His wedding had been scheduled for September 5.

According to police, the accident took place at around 4 a.m. on the Mega Highway near Shyam Mandir, shortly before Naurangdesar. Radheshyam was riding his motorcycle when the sleeper bus allegedly came onto the wrong side of the road and collided head-on with his bike.

Bus dragged groom-to-be for 500 metres

The impact proved fatal. Police said the bus driver allegedly continued driving after the collision instead of stopping, dragging Radheshyam and his motorcycle for approximately 500 metres.

Radheshyam suffered fatal injuries and died at the spot. His father, Budhram Nayak, later lodged a complaint at the Town Police Station, alleging that the bus driver was speeding and driving negligently.

Following the crash, the driver allegedly abandoned the bus and fled the scene.

Sleeper bus travelling from Jaipur to Ludhiana

According to Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajaram of the Town Police Station, the sleeper bus was travelling from Jaipur to Ludhiana in Punjab when the accident occurred.

After receiving information about the crash, police reached the spot and removed the bus from the road before taking it to a safe location. Police have begun investigating the circumstances of the accident and efforts are underway to trace the driver.

Wedding preparations turn into tragedy

Radheshyam’s family was preparing for his wedding, which was only three days away. He was on his way to distribute invitation cards when the accident claimed his life.

The incident has left the family devastated as preparations for the September 5 wedding turned into mourning following the young man’s sudden death.
