Harbhajan Singh appeals to PM Modi for help as Punjab faces severe floods

Chandigarh, Aug 31: The situation in Punjab is worsening due to heavy rains and floods. Thousands of farmers and villagers have been devastated, while people in many villages are badly affected. In this difficult time, former Indian cricketer and Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh has shared an emotional post in support of the flood-affected people. Harbhajan Singh made this appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and NDRF.

Harbhajan Singh said- Punjab is going through very difficult circumstances today. Due to heavy rains and floods, hundreds of villages have been submerged, crops of thousands of farmers have been destroyed and common people are in great trouble. He said that Punjab, which is called the food granary of the entire country, is going through a terrible situation today and the cooperation of the central government is very important.

Harbhajan said- Central government should provide financial help to flood affected people

In his message, Harbhajan Singh demanded from the Prime Minister that the Army and NDRF teams should start relief work with more force in the affected areas. He said that food, medicines and safe shelter should be provided to the people and financial and agricultural assistance should be given to the farmers so that they can rebuild their lives and farming.

The former cricketer wrote- Standing with Punjab is very important not only for Punjab but for the food security of the entire country. This is not a political issue but a big mission to save lives and secure the country’s agriculture.
