Hardik Pandya Shuts Down Paparazzi for Filming Mahieka Sharma Inappropriately

Mumbai, Maharashtra: Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has sharply criticised the growing paparazzi culture after an online video of his girlfriend, Mahieka Sharma, went viral.

The cricketer expressed displeasure on Instagram, calling the act “intrusive” and “disrespectful,” saying photographers had “crossed a line” while filming her outside a Bandra restaurant.

‘A Private Moment Turned Into Cheap Sensationalism’

In a strongly worded note, Hardik acknowledged that public attention comes with his profession but urged that his dignity not be compromised for sensational coverage.

Hardik Pandya has slammed the paparazzi

“Mahieka was simply walking down a staircase when paps decided to capture her from an angle that no woman deserves to be photographed from,” he wrote. “A private moment was turned into cheap sensationalism.”

He also appealed to the media to maintain sensitivity while covering public figures, adding:
“This isn’t about headlines or who clicked what — it’s about basic respect. Women deserve dignity. Everyone deserves boundaries.”

    Relationship Goes Public

Hardik recently confirmed his relationship with Mahieka Sharma—a 24-year-old model, yoga trainer, and fashion professional—after months of speculation.

The couple made their relationship official around Hardik’s 32nd birthday, sharing glimpses from a beach getaway and festival celebrations.

Mahieka, who has gained popularity in modelling circles, recently laughed off engagement rumours triggered by a ring in one of her photos, saying she simply enjoys “wearing nice jewellery every day.”

    Past Relationships and Personal Life

Before dating Mahieka, Hardik was briefly linked to UK-based singer Jasmin Walia, who was seen supporting him during IPL matches and was once photographed boarding the Mumbai Indians team bus.

Their association appeared to fade later, followed by both unfollowing each other on social media.

Hardik was previously married to actor-model Nataša Stanković. The couple announced their separation last year after four years of marriage, stating they had “given it our all” before mutually deciding to part ways. They continue to co-parent their son, Agastya.
