Chandigarh: The Haryana government has approved the proposal for a state-of-the-art industrial park at IMT Ambala under the Centre’s flagship Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana (BHAVYA), marking a major step towards strengthening the state’s industrial infrastructure and attracting fresh investments.
The proposal received approval from the State-Level Committee (SLC) chaired by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi and will now be submitted to the Central government for final clearance.
108-Acre Plug-and-Play Industrial Hub Proposed Under BHAVYA Scheme
The proposed industrial park will be developed over 108.58 acres within HSIIDC’s upcoming Industrial Model Township (IMT) Ambala at an estimated cost of ₹304.10 crore. Designed as an investment-ready, plug-and-play manufacturing hub, the project aims to attract industries by offering modern infrastructure and faster operational readiness.
Officials said the proposal meets all eligibility criteria under the BHAVYA scheme, including contiguous encumbrance-free land, strong multimodal connectivity and readiness for quick implementation.
Project to Feature 256 Industrial Plots, Worker Housing and Skill Centre
According to the Industries and Commerce Department, the industrial park will include 256 industrial plots, 15 ready-built factory sheds, warehousing facilities, common facility centres, worker housing, a skill development centre, power infrastructure, water treatment facilities, a Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP), internal roads, utilities and extensive green spaces.
The project will be executed through NICDC Haryana Multimodal Logistic Hub Project Ltd, a special purpose vehicle of NICDC and HSIIDC, in line with BHAVYA guidelines.
Govt Aims to Boost Investment, Manufacturing and Employment
Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi emphasised the need for close coordination among departments to ensure the proposal is processed swiftly by the Centre.
The industrial park is expected to become a major driver of industrial investment, manufacturing growth, logistics development and employment generation in northern Haryana. The BHAVYA scheme aims to develop 100 world-class industrial parks across India with a total outlay of ₹33,660 crore over six years.
