Haryana Bus Overturns: 3 Dead, 12 Injured in Fatehabad–Tohana Route Accident

A 52-seater private bus coming from Fatehabad in Haryana to Tohana overturned into a field on Monday morning after going out of control. Three people, including a woman, died in the accident, while 12 passengers were injured. All the injured have been admitted to Civil Hospital Tohana.

As soon as the incident was reported, Sadar police station in-charge Bir Singh along with his police team reached the spot and started relief work. Among the deceased is Home Guard Balwinder Singh, who was working at City Police Station Tohana. He was a resident of the village Dult. Additionally, a young woman (31) Bhauti Devi and Moni Devi (70) also died.

According to the police, there were around 50-55 passengers on the bus. With the help of local people, the bus windows were broken to get the passengers out. Several of the injured are said to be in serious condition.

Passengers on the bus accused the driver of negligence. Rammehr, a passenger from the village of Chandad, said that the driver had been driving the bus (HR62A3411) at high speed from the start. As soon as the turn came near the village of Bhodi, the driver quickly steered the bus, and it went out of control and flipped into a field.

Case filed against the driver

After getting news of the accident, Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Barala also reached the spot. He helped get the injured sent to the hospital by ambulance and instructed the administration to speed up relief work.

The police have taken the bus into custody and started an investigation, and a case will be filed against the driver for negligent driving.

DSP said – Police are raiding, driver will be caught soon

DSP Jai Bhagwan, who was present at the scene, assured the villagers that the case is being investigated quickly and the police are continuously raiding to catch the runaway driver and conductor.

Despite this, the villagers stuck to their demand. They said that just assurances won’t work and the sit-in will continue until the accused are arrested. A large number of villagers are present at the protest site, keeping the area tense but under control.
