Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has approved the chargesheeting of 129 Naib Tehsildars, Tehsildars and DROs. These officers are accused of doing dozens of registrations without the necessary NOC under Rule 7A.
Now, the process of giving chargesheets to these officers is being started by the Revenue Department. Strict action will be taken against the officers who have done more than 50 registrations under Rule 7 of the Haryana Civil Services Code. On the other hand, those who have done less than 50 registrations will be processed under Rule 8, which is considered a relatively mild action.
The government may show leniency in the case of retired officers, because no financial irregularities have been found in these cases. At present, this is under consideration. This decision clearly indicates that the government is now going to be strict about registrations done without permission.
If sources are to be believed, some senior officers of the government have suggested taking action in parts instead of taking action against 129 revenue officers at once. Now it remains to be seen what kind of action the department plans. At present, Chief Minister Naib Saini’s stance against corruption is aggressive in which orders have been given to take action against the officers of the irrigation department.
