Haryana: Chief Minister’s Flying Squad Raids Mahendragarh Municipality; Officials Found Absent

In response to persistent complaints regarding difficulties faced by the general public in getting their work done at the Mahendragarh Municipal Council, a team from the Chief Minister’s Flying Squad conducted a raid on Wednesday. During the raid, several officials and employees were found to be absent. A report detailing the status of the employees and officials has been prepared and forwarded to the Urban Local Bodies Department in Panchkula.

Members of the public had been facing significant difficulties in getting their administrative tasks completed at the Municipal Council office. Taking cognizance of the continuous stream of complaints from the public, a joint team comprising the Chief Minister’s Flying Squad and the Intelligence Department conducted a surprise raid in the morning.

During the operation, Rajesh Verma, SDO of the Irrigation Department (Narnaul), was appointed as the Duty Magistrate. Among the staff present during the raid, only Ravi Yadav, a clerk at the Municipal Council, was found to be on duty.

Ravi Yadav informed the team that the Mahendragarh Municipal Council office has a total staff strength of 17 permanent employees/officials and 3 employees appointed through the HKRN (Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam). During the Chief Minister’s Flying Squad’s operation, Municipal Secretary Prashant Parashar, ME Rajesh Kumar, JE Navdeep, and Clerk Manisha Kumari were found to be absent. No records of sanctioned leave or entries in the attendance register indicating their departure were found for the aforementioned officials and employees.

Consequently, the team has written to the Urban Local Bodies Department in Panchkula, recommending that appropriate action be initiated against the individuals concerned in accordance with established rules. Additionally, the team is currently scrutinizing other office documents as well as the ongoing development works within the municipal jurisdiction.
