Haryana CM Saini Slams AAP, Congress in Punjab Rally: Says People Want Development, Not Misrule

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress during a rally in Tarn Taran, asserting that Punjab’s people were “disillusioned with AAP’s misrule” and now sought “real development and good governance.”

Campaigning for BJP candidate Harjit Singh Sandhu in the Tarn Taran Assembly bypoll, CM Saini said the election was not just another contest, but one that would “shape the future of Punjab for years to come.”

Before addressing the rally, Saini paid obeisance at Gurdwara Bir Baba Budha Sahib, praying for the prosperity of both Punjab and the nation.

“AAP and Congress Have Betrayed Punjab”

Saini accused both parties of dragging Punjab backward, saying:

“During the Congress regime, corruption, bribery, and drug abuse eroded Punjab’s foundations. The Aam Aadmi Party, on the other hand, has only misled people with false promises of change.”

He also targeted former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, alleging that he had “compromised his integrity” for political gains.

“For the sake of power, Kejriwal compromised with both the Congress and corruption,” Saini said.

Criticism Over Flood Relief and Governance

Recalling the recent floods in Punjab, Saini alleged that both Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann failed to take responsibility during the crisis.

“One went to Delhi, and the other was hospitalised,” he remarked, adding that Haryana had directed its officials to extend all possible assistance to Punjab’s flood-hit regions.

He said that despite a “historic mandate,” AAP had “betrayed the trust of the people” and failed to deliver on its promises.

Haryana’s Governance Model as a Benchmark

Highlighting Haryana’s development under BJP rule, Saini said the state now ranks fourth nationally in development indices.

“Our welfare schemes directly reach beneficiaries, and crop loss compensation is credited straight into farmers’ bank accounts,” he said.
He emphasised that Haryana’s administration operated with “transparency and accountability,” a model he claimed AAP had failed to replicate in Punjab.

‘Lotus Symbolises Progress’

The Chief Minister credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for Haryana’s rapid progress and urged Punjab’s voters to back the BJP for a similar transformation.

“If Haryana can progress, why not Punjab? For Punjab to move forward, it must follow the lotus — the symbol of development and stability,” he concluded.
