Haryana Cold Wave Intensifies: Dense Fog Alert, Low Visibility for Next 3 Days

Sirsa: The cold wave continues to intensify in Haryana. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), a dense fog alert has been issued for most districts of the state on Sunday.

Visibility may be extremely low during the morning and late night hours. Cold-day-like conditions are also expected in many areas. The average minimum temperature has dropped by 0.9 degrees Celsius compared to January 10th, while the maximum temperature remains below normal.

Fog Alert Issued by IMD

According to the Meteorological Department, dense fog is expected in Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, and Yamunanagar this morning (Sunday). Light fog will also be visible in Rohtak, Jhajjar, Jind, Hisar, and Bhiwani.

In southern Haryana, Gurugram, Faridabad, Rewari, Mahendragarh, Palwal, and Mewat, cold weather and fog will be more prevalent. Drivers are advised to exercise caution, especially on highways.

Hisar Coldest at 2.2°C

Minimum temperature data shows Hisar was the coldest district in the state, recording a minimum temperature of 2.2 degrees Celsius. Except for Ambala, all other cities in Haryana recorded minimum temperatures below 5 degrees Celsius. Sirsa recorded 3.0 degrees Celsius, Jind 3.1 degrees Celsius, and Panipat 4.1 degrees Celsius.

Maximum Temperatures Still Below Normal

There has been a slight increase in the maximum temperature, but it still remains below normal. The maximum temperature in Narnaul was recorded at 13 degrees, 7 degrees below normal. The highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded at 21.7 degrees Celsius in Palwal. The day temperature in Ambala was 17 degrees, in Hisar 14.5 degrees and in Karnal 16.6 degrees. The maximum temperature in Gurugram was recorded at 17.9 degrees and in Faridabad 21.5 degrees.
