Severe Cold Wave Grips Haryana as Temperatures Stay Below 20°C, Dense Fog Likely

Sirsa: Severe cold weather continues to grip Haryana. Temperatures are dropping steadily both day and night. Maximum temperatures across the state remain below 20 degrees Celsius.

Cold Winds and Fog to Continue

According to the Meteorological Department, Chandigarh, severe cold and cold winds are expected to continue on Monday. Dense fog is also predicted in some areas of the state, creating cold-day-like conditions.

Narnaul Records Coldest Night

Last night, Narnaul experienced the coldest night. The minimum temperature here was recorded at 3 degrees Celsius, which is 1.5 degrees below normal. Hisar came in second, with a night temperature of 3.6 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, temperatures in most cities across the state remained below normal. Only Sonipat recorded a temperature of 4.4 degrees Celsius above normal. The state’s highest minimum temperature, 9.7 degrees Celsius, was recorded here.

Temperatures Below Normal in Most Cities

Earlier, on Saturday night, Mahendragarh district was the coldest, with a minimum temperature of 3.0 degrees Celsius. On Sunday, Karnal and Kaithal districts were the coldest in the state, with a maximum temperature of only 11.6 degrees Celsius. Frost has also begun to form in the fields. The daytime temperature in Kaithal was only 1.8 degrees Celsius higher than the nighttime temperature. The state’s maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 4.3 degrees below normal.

Dense fog will prevail in many districts

Dense fog is expected in the northern districts of Haryana, including Ambala, Karnal, Kaithal, and Kurukshetra. Dense fog is also expected in Hisar and Sirsa. Fog may also occur in other areas.

The Meteorological Department has predicted that due to the drop in temperatures in Mahendragarh district and many other places, frost may form in the fields. This also raises the possibility of damage to farmers’ crops.

Sunday was a cold day

Severe cold has disrupted life in Haryana. Sunday was the coldest day of the season, with cold conditions prevailing in nine districts of the state. In many areas, night temperatures dropped so low that frost appeared on crops in the fields.
