Haryana Congress Legislature Party Meeting Today; Inflation, Organisation and Public Outreach on Agenda

Chandigarh: Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the Leader of the Opposition in the Haryana Congress, has convened a meeting of the Legislative Party today. Issues such as inflation, rising fuel prices, and law and order are expected to be discussed during this meeting. Presided over by Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the session may also include directives for MLAs to step out into the field, engage directly with the public, and actively raise their concerns.

For the past several days, the INLD has been highly active on the ground. Recently, the party even staged protests at the district level. Now, the Congress Legislative Party is poised to take charge of the campaign on the ground. Party leaders are expected to reach out to the public to address issues concerning inflation and fuel prices.

Congress OBC Department Disbanded

Meanwhile, the Congress party’s OBC department has been dissolved, and the organizational structure is set to be reconstituted from scratch. On Tuesday, a delegation of Congress leaders met with Chief Electoral Officer A. Sreenivas to discuss matters related to the Rajya Sabha elections. The delegation included MLAs Ashok Arora, Aftab Ahmed, B.B. Batra, and Paramvir Singh, as well as Rajya Sabha member Karmbir Boddh.

Following the meeting, Batra and Arora stated that the Congress party had submitted a complaint to the Election Commission against the Returning Officer regarding the Rajya Sabha elections, and they have demanded an investigation into the matter.

SIR Campaign Deliberations

Concurrently, the Congress party has intensified its preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign for voter lists. On May 27, a meeting of the State-level Action and Monitoring Committee along with a training camp for Booth-Level Agents (BLAs) will be held at the State Congress Headquarters. State President Rao Narendra Singh emphasized that the voter list constitutes the most critical link in the electoral process, and therefore, transparency and vigilance are absolutely essential.

Delhi Leadership to Monitor Strategy

According to sources, the central leadership in Delhi will maintain a direct oversight of this entire campaign. Jitendra Baghel and Prafulla Gude the co-in-charges for Haryana affairs are also expected to be present at these meetings. It is believed that in districts where the organizational structure is found to be weak, changes or the implementation of new strategies may be considered.

The Congress leadership firmly believes that electoral success is unattainable without strengthening the organizational framework, mobilizing party workers, and enhancing public outreach. For this very reason, the party is now focused on establishing an active network extending all the way down to the booth level.
