31 Haryana Congress MLAs Camp in Kufri ahead of Rajya Sabha Elections

Anticipating potential horse-trading in the Rajya Sabha elections, the Haryana Congress has sent its MLAs to Himachal Pradesh. Following a meeting and lunch held on Friday at the Chandigarh residence of Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda, 31 MLAs departed for Kufri, Shimla, in three luxury Tempo Travellers.

They have been accommodated at a resort located in Gallu. Six MLAs, including Hooda and Chander Mohan, did not join the group. The MLAs reached the resort in Kufri via Shimla at approximately 8:00 PM on Friday.

The Sukhu-led government in Himachal Pradesh has made stringent security arrangements for the MLAs. The Shimla Police have set up a checkpoint near Kufri on National Highway 205, and all incoming and outgoing vehicles are being inspected.

A large contingent of Shimla Police personnel has been deployed outside the Radisson Hotel in Kufri. Security arrangements have also been tightened at the Adventure Resort in Gallu. On Saturday morning, Congress MPs from Haryana arrived at the hotel to meet with the MLAs. The Chief Minister’s Principal Political Advisor, Sunil Bittu, also met with the Haryana MLAs.
