Haryana Court employee murdered while out for a morning walk; Body found in bushes

A peon from the District Court was murdered in Yamunanagar on Monday morning while out for a walk. His body was found lying in the bushes by the roadside. There were multiple injury marks on his body, and blood was visible on his hands and feet.

The family alleged that the murder was committed by the relatives of the deceased’s daughter-in-law. The son had entered into an inter-caste love marriage seven months ago. The woman’s family had been issuing constant threats, claiming the marriage had taken place against their wishes.

Upon receiving information about the body from passersby, the police arrived at the scene, took custody of the body, initiated an investigation, and are currently awaiting the post-mortem report.

Police Statement: Initial Report Was of a Missing Person

DSP Rajat Gulia stated that the Kalanaur police post had received information that a man named Gurmel, a resident of Kait Mandi, was missing. The police launched a search, during which his body was discovered in the bushes along Old Saharanpur Road.

He mentioned that traces of blood and a pair of slippers were found near the body at the scene. Tire marks from a vehicle were also discovered in the vicinity. Injury marks were observed on the deceased’s body.

Investigation Proceeding from a Murder Angle: DSP

The DSP added that the family has demanded action, alleging that Gurmel was murdered. Taking these allegations seriously, the police are investigating the case from that angle. However, it cannot yet be definitively stated whether this is a case of murder or an accident. The actual cause of death will only be revealed once the post-mortem report is received.
