Haryana Crime: Thieves broke into 18 shops, stole goods worth lakhs

Thieves broke into 18 shops at the Khori bus stand, stealing goods and cash worth lakhs of rupees. This is the second major theft in the district in three days. Three masked thieves were caught on CCTV footage committing the crime. Police have launched an investigation after inspecting the scene.

The Khori bus stand, located under the Jaisalmer National Highway flyover, has a bustling market. After closing their shops for the night, the shopkeepers went home. When they arrived at their shops on Thursday morning, they were shocked to find the locks broken. The thieves targeted 18 shops one after another. These included a hardware store, a library, a bicycle shop, a ready-made clothing store, a medical store, and several other shops. After informing each other, all the shopkeepers gathered at the bus stand.

Upon receiving the information, personnel from the Kund police outpost arrived at the scene. Since there wasn’t much cash in the shops at night, the thieves couldn’t steal a large amount of money, but they made off with goods worth approximately three lakh rupees. The shopkeepers alleged that the lack of police patrolling allowed the thieves to carry out such a large-scale theft.

Several shops at the bus stand have CCTV cameras installed outside. The thieves even cut the wires of some of the cameras. Despite this, the incident was captured on some of the cameras. The footage shows three masked thieves entering the market with cutters and other tools, and then committing the thefts. The shopkeepers have handed over the footage to the police, who are now trying to identify the thieves based on the video.
