Current came in street pole: 32 year old youth died, family members accused electricity dept of negligence

A 32-year-old youth died after coming in contact with the street pole of the divider with live current located in the Bawdigate area on Delhi-Pilani National Highway 709-E. The incident was also captured in the CCTV camera installed there. After getting information about the accident, the police reached the spot. He was brought to the district civil hospital in critical condition, where the doctors declared him dead.

32-year-old Ravi, a resident of the Bawdigate area of the city, was crossing the road from the divider on Tuesday morning. When he tried to get out of a small space between the iron railing, he came in contact with the current in the street pole. Due to this, he fell unconscious on the spot. He was taken to the district civil hospital for treatment, where the doctors declared him dead.

Ravi’s wife had already died. He has a two and a half year old son. After the accident, the family also reached the spot. The police took the body into custody and got the post-mortem done in the district civil hospital. Accusing the electricity corporation of negligence, the family has demanded compensation and government jobs for the dependents of the deceased.
