Haryana Records Over 32°C in February, IMD Warns of Intensifying Heat

As February comes to a close, heat has intensified across Haryana, with maximum temperatures crossing 32°C in several districts.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the state’s average maximum temperature is currently 5.1°C above normal, indicating the possibility of more intense heat in the coming days.

Hisar Records Highest Temperature

Among all districts, Hisar recorded the highest temperature at 32.9°C.

Other cities also reported high temperatures, including:

Narnaul – 32.2°C

Bhiwani – 32.4°C

Gurugram – 32.6°C

Nuh – 32.7°C

Except for Karnal, Sirsa, Jind, Rohtak, and Yamunanagar, most cities recorded temperatures above 30°C.

Maximum Temperature Rises by 0.3°C

The IMD reported that the average maximum temperature increased by 0.3°C in the last 24 hours. Most districts recorded daytime temperatures between 29°C and 31°C.

No rainfall was recorded at any weather station in the state, and dry winds have further increased the heat.

Nights Also Turning Warmer

Not just the days, but nights are also becoming warmer in Haryana.

The minimum temperature increased by 2.6°C compared to the previous day, which is 3.7°C above normal. The lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Karnal at 12.8°C.

Meanwhile, Hisar and Jind recorded night temperatures of 16.6°C and 16.7°C respectively. In most areas, minimum temperatures have risen by 3 to 4 degrees within 24 hours, reducing the mild chill typically experienced during mornings and evenings.

Meteorologists predict that heat wave conditions may intensify further in the coming days.
