First Fog of the Season Engulfs Haryana, Dense Fog Warning Issued in 8 Districts

Sonipat: Haryana has witnessed the first fog of the season. This morning, dense fog prevailed in many districts including Sonipat, Panipat and Faridabad, which reduced visibility considerably. Morning visibility in Sonepat was less than 10 meters. Fog was also clear in rural areas of Faridabad. The Meteorological Department has advised travelers to exercise caution.

Dense fog warning in 8 districts

The Meteorological Department has issued a dense fog warning in Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Jind and Sonepat districts. The intensity of fog is expected to increase in the morning and night for the next few days.

Northwesterly winds to prevail from December 16

According to weather experts, northwesterly winds will become active again from December 16. This is likely to keep the minimum temperature stable, but the impact of a mild cold wave may increase in the state.

Slight increase in temperature, yet cold wave effect persists

In the last 24 hours, the average minimum temperature of Haryana has increased by 0.6 degrees Celsius. However, according to the Meteorological Department, the temperature remained around normal. Most districts of the state experienced temperatures 1 to 2 degrees below normal.

Coldest night in Hisar
Hisar recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 6.3 degrees Celsius, which is 1.8 degrees below normal. It is followed by Mahendragarh.

The minimum temperatures in other districts were as follows:

Karnal: 7.5 degrees

Mahendragarh: 6.7 degrees

Rohtak: 8.2 degrees

Ambala: 10.0 degrees

Bhiwani: 9.5 degrees

Sirsa: 7.6 degrees

Faridabad: 8.8 degrees

Gurugram: 8.7 degrees

Chandigarh: 8.5 degrees

The maximum temperature also fell.

The state’s average maximum temperature fell by 0.6 degrees Celsius, although it remained close to normal. Bhiwani (AWS) recorded the highest maximum temperature of 26.2 degrees Celsius.

Chandigarh: 23.9 degrees

Ambala: 22.2 degrees

Hisar: 25.8 degrees

Narnaul: 22.0 degrees

Cold weather will increase in the coming days.

According to the Meteorological Department, fog may become denser in the morning and night in the coming days, which will further intensify the cold. People have been advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions.
