Visibility drops to zero in Panipat

Panipat recorded almost zero visibility during early hours, making it difficult for vehicles to move on highways and city roads. Drivers were forced to slow down significantly as the fog reduced visibility to just a few metres, raising the risk of accidents.

Temperature dips, cold intensifies

The fog was accompanied by a drop in temperature, with the mercury hovering around 10°C in many areas. The combination of cold winds and dense fog made the weather feel harsher, especially during early morning hours.

 Train services hit, delays reported

Rail services were among the worst affected due to poor visibility. Several trains running through Haryana were delayed, with some arriving hours behind schedule. Foggy conditions often force trains to slow down for safety, disrupting timetables across routes.

Weather conditions likely to persist

According to weather patterns in north India, such dense fog episodes are linked to moisture and low wind conditions during winter transitions. Authorities have advised commuters to remain cautious, especially during early morning and late evening hours when visibility remains lowest.
