    Haryana: Food Safety Dept swings into action ahead of Diwali,  samples of milk, sweets taken

    In Bahadurgarh, Food Safety Officer Rajesh Verma’s team raided five sweet shops and a dairy in the city. Five sweets, one cheese, and one milk sample were taken from the dairy.

    The samples have been sent to the laboratory for testing. If the samples fail the test, action will be taken against the sweet seller and dairy operator. Food Safety Officer Rajesh Verma stated that during the festive season, there have been frequent complaints that substandard sweets are being brought in from Delhi and outside areas for sale.

    Acting on these complaints, one sample of khoya, three khoya burfi, one sweet khoya, and one cheese sample were taken from two shops at Patel Nagar Chowk, a shop on Nahra-Nahri Road, and a shop on Jhajjar Road.

    In addition, a complaint was received regarding 2500 liters of milk from a milk dairy near the village of Sankhaul. A milk sample was also taken. All these samples have been sealed and sent to the laboratory for testing. He said that the sample report comes back within 15 days. Therefore, if any sample fails, action will be taken against the shopkeeper as per the rules.
