Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini informed the Assembly on Monday that the people of the state have elected the government with a massive mandate.
Myth of ‘vote theft’ being spread by the opposition
CM Saini said, “Despite such a clear mandate, the opposition’s attempt to create the perception of ‘vote theft’ is completely misinformation and weakens the public’s decision.” He recalled that when the assembly election results were declared on October 8, 2024, the opposition had not raised any complaints and everything appeared normal.
He explained that over time, the opposition suddenly started raising allegations of vote theft and attempted to spread it outside Haryana. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi specifically named Haryana, which are serious allegations that require a factual discussion.
Call for a transparent and factual discussion of the controversy
The CM clarified that the proposed discussion is neither against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) nor based on the Election Commission. He said, “If the opposition finds any irregularities, they should be openly discussed. If the opposition has concrete suggestions for improvement, they can also be presented.”
The CM further said that the motion brought by member Ram Kumar Kashyap should be raised in the Assembly so that the people of Haryana can receive complete and transparent information on this matter. He added, “Since the opposition is repeatedly raising this baseless issue, a detailed discussion will help clarify the facts for everyone.”
