A sudden change in weather has gripped Haryana, with authorities issuing a hailstorm alert in 19 districts amid widespread rain and thunderstorms. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of intense weather activity, including lightning and gusty winds, driven by an active western disturbance affecting North India.

The alert covers several key districts, with conditions expected to worsen through the day as cloud cover thickens and rainfall intensifies.

Rainfall activity began early in the morning across multiple regions, bringing relief from rising temperatures but also triggering concerns about storm-related disruptions. Several districts have already reported light to moderate showers accompanied by strong winds and isolated hail incidents.

According to weather reports, similar conditions were recently observed in parts of the state, where heavy rain and hail caused waterlogging and disrupted normal life, especially in areas like Rewari.

The ongoing spell is expected to continue intermittently, with peak intensity likely during the afternoon and evening hours.

Temperature Drops 6.5°C Below Normal

One of the most significant impacts of this weather system has been a sharp drop in temperatures. The average temperature across Haryana has fallen around 6.5 degrees Celsius below normal, marking a notable shift from the earlier warm conditions.
