Haryana Heat Surge: Temperatures Soar Up to 35°C in Early March

Chandigarh: The heat wave is intensifying in Haryana. Temperatures have already reached 35 degrees Celsius in the first week of March. Meteorologists predict temperatures could reach 40 degrees Celsius in March. On Wednesday, Gurugram’s maximum temperature reached 35 degrees Celsius.

The state’s average maximum temperature has increased by about 0.9 degrees, while it is currently running about 6 degrees above normal. The steadily increasing heat has begun to bother people during the afternoon.

Maximum temperatures above 34 degrees Celsius were recorded in three cities in the state. Gurugram recorded 35.0°C, Sirsa 34.8°C, and Bhiwani 34.5°C. Additionally, nine cities recorded temperatures above 33 degrees Celsius. Temperatures are expected to rise further in the coming days.

Temperatures much higher than normal

Temperatures in most districts have been recorded 5 to 8 degrees Celsius above normal. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no forecast of rain at this time, which could further intensify the heat in the coming days. Experts say that this heat in the first week of March could be a sign of a heat wave in the future. People are advised to avoid the afternoon sun and increase their water intake.

Minimum temperature rise

The state’s minimum temperature has registered a significant increase in the first week of March. The average minimum temperature across the state has increased by 2°C compared to yesterday. Most strikingly, the current minimum temperature remains 4.8°C above normal.

Most parts of the state are recording temperatures between 15 and 18 degrees Celsius. Districts like Ambala and Rohtak have seen temperatures rise 5 to 6 degrees above normal. Mahendragarh district remains the coldest in the state, but temperatures there have also touched 14 degrees Celsius.
