Haryana heatwave: 10 cities cross 40°C, Rohtak hottest

The heat in Haryana is continuously increasing. On Friday, the state’s average maximum temperature rose by 1.5 degrees and was 3.6 degrees higher than normal. The highest temperature was recorded in Rohtak at 41.9°C.

According to the Chandigarh weather center, the maximum temperature crossed 40°C in 10 cities of the state. These include Ambala (40.4°C), Karnal (40.4°C), Rohtak (41.9°C), Sirsa (41.4°C), Gurugram (40.1°C), Jind (40.7°C), Mahendragarh (40.8°C), Nuh (41.3°C), Palwal (40.2°C), and Sonipat (40.2°C).

Meanwhile, in many districts including Hisar, Bhiwani, and Gurugram, temperatures remained around 39°C, making the effect of hot winds noticeable. There has been a drop in minimum temperatures, providing slight relief in the morning and evening. The lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded at 17.6°C in Saragarhi (AWS), Sonipat.

Maximum temperature increased by 1.5 degrees: The maximum temperature is continuously rising in Haryana and in most districts, it is above normal. On Friday, the state’s average maximum temperature increased by 1.5 degrees to 3.6 degrees above normal. Rohtak was the hottest, where a temperature of 41.9°C was recorded. In Sirsa, Nuh, Mahendragarh, and Jind, the mercury also rose well above 40°C. In Ambala and Karnal, the temperature also reached 40.4°C. In Gurugram and surrounding areas, the temperature is also close to 40°C. According to the meteorological department, the heat may increase in the coming days.

Minimum temperature drops by 2.3 degrees: A decrease in minimum temperature has been recorded in the state, providing slight relief during the morning and night. On average, the minimum temperature has decreased by 2.3 degrees and remains around normal. The lowest minimum temperature of 17.6°C was recorded in Sonipat. In many districts including Hisar, Gurugram, and Karnal, the minimum temperature remained between 19 and 21 degrees. However, due to intense heat during the day, this relief is not very effective. According to the Meteorological Department, the night temperature may gradually increase in the coming days.
