Haryana Heatwave: Mercury Crosses 46°C, Coolers Defunct in Govt Hospitals

In Haryana, the heatwave and temperature are continuously increasing. Rohtak has become the hottest city in the state. Here, on Wednesday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 46.6 degrees Celsius. In Narnaul, Bhiwani, and Hisar, the temperature has crossed 45 degrees.

Even in the extreme heat, hot water is coming out of the water coolers installed at Hisar bus stand. At Panchkula Civil Hospital, due to hot water coming from the water cooler, patients are buying water bottles from the canteen.

Farmer Dharmpal, who came to Hisar hospital for treatment, was not admitted because 20 rupees were short. Dharmpal had brought 250 rupees for treatment, but due to the unavailability of water in the hospital, he bought a water bottle for 20 rupees.

The meteorological department has issued an alert for dust storms today in 10 districts including Gurugram and Panipat. Tomorrow, rain and hail are expected in several districts including Panchkula and Ambala.

In intense heat, the temperature in many cities of India has crossed 45°C. The risk of heatstroke has increased due to hot winds blowing along with scorching sunlight. If not treated on time, this condition can be life-threatening. By making some necessary changes in routine, the risk of heatstroke can be largely avoided.
