Haryana Heat Intensifies: Weather to Remain Dry Till March 12

Chandigarh: With the onset of March, the heatwave has intensified in Haryana. Maximum temperatures in three cities across the state have reached above 35°C. Mahendragarh recorded the highest temperature of 36.2°C, while Narnaul recorded 35.6°C and Charkhi Dadri recorded 35.1°C. Gurugram and Bhiwani also saw temperatures reach nearly 35°C.

In terms of night temperatures, the highest minimum temperature of 19.9°C was recorded in Bhiwani, while the lowest was 15.2°C in Mahendragarh. According to the Department of Agricultural Meteorology at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (HAU), Hisar, the weather in the state is expected to remain generally dry until March 12.

Due to the partial effect of western disturbance, there may be light cloud cover at some places till March 11 and light to moderate winds will blow at times.

Temperatures in 12 cities exceeded 33 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, maximum temperatures above 33 degrees Celsius were recorded in 12 cities across the state. Mahendragarh was the hottest at 36.2°C. Others recorded temperatures in Narnaul at 35.6°C, Charkhi Dadri at 35.1°C, Gurugram at 35.0°C, Bhiwani (AWS) at 35.0°C, and Hisar at 34.9°C.

Nuh recorded 34.8°C, Bhiwani 34.5°C, Gurugram 34.5°C, Palwal 34.4°C, and Gurugram 33.5°C. The daytime heat is clearly felt as temperatures surpassed 33°C in many cities in the first week of March.

The nights are getting warmer

Night temperatures across the state are also above normal. Bhiwani recorded the highest minimum temperature of 19.9°C. Gurugram, Rohtak, Ambala, and Hisar also recorded night temperatures between 18 and 19 degrees.

According to the Meteorological Department, minimum temperatures are around 5 degrees above normal, making it feel mildly warm even at night. However, Mahendragarh recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 15.2°C.
