Haryana Weather: Heavy Rain and Hailstorms Hit 18 Districts Amid Cold Wave

Chandigarh: Amidst the bitter cold in Haryana, the weather has taken a turn once again. Due to the impact of an active western disturbance, a warning has been issued for heavy rain and hailstorms in 18 districts of the state today. Heavy hailstorms accompanied by rain fell in Narnaul, Hisar, Rohtak, Bhiwani, and Fatehabad, leaving a blanket of ice on the ground.

Heavy hailstorms hit villages in Hisar, including Budak, Sarsana, Bandahedi, Khasa Mahajan, Ghudsal, Bagla, and Kaliraman. Rain also began in Sonipat, Kurukshetra, Rewari, Nuh, Gurugram, Kurukshetra, and Panipat, while Jhajjar and Faridabad remained overcast.

According to the Meteorological Department, rain is expected to be more prevalent in the eastern and southeastern districts of the state today, while cold and cold wave-like conditions may persist in the western districts. Thunderstorms, lightning, and hailstorms are likely in Mahendragarh, Charkhi Dadri, Rewari, and Jhajjar. Winds of 50-60 kmph are possible.

Minimum temperature between 2 to 5 degrees, chill increases

In many districts of the state, the mercury has been recorded between 2 to 5 degrees Celsius. The lowest minimum temperature was around 2 degrees Celsius, due to which the chill has increased in open areas and rural areas. Whereas the maximum temperature has definitely increased by about 1 to 3 degrees compared to the previous day, but it is still below normal. However, due to rain and hailstorm on Tuesday, the chill will increase again.
