Haryana hospitals to get 600 new doctors in February

The crumbling healthcare system in Haryana’s civil hospitals is soon to receive a major boost. Government hospitals are set to receive 600 new doctors in February. The first batch of MBBS graduates from the 2020-21 batch is ready to begin their mandatory bond service. The Health Department has already started micro-planning for the deployment of these young doctors.

The Health Department has also begun preparations to appoint these MBBS graduates as Junior Residents, Tutors, and Demonstrators. The students have been asked to choose whether they will opt for government service or pay the service bond amount in a lump sum or in monthly installments.

Since these graduates are expected to be available for bond service until February 2026, the Health Department has been tasked with identifying Primary Health Centers (PHCs), Community Health Centers (CHCs), district hospitals, and other health facilities where these bonded doctors can be deployed.

The Health Department has requested the directors of government medical colleges and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Health Sciences, Kutail, Karnal, to provide information on how many students can be accommodated in medical colleges to complete their bond period and whether these MBBS graduates can be appointed to positions such as Junior Resident, Tutor, or Demonstrator.

Additionally, according to sources, the National Health Mission (NHM) has been asked to identify deployment locations for these MBBS graduates.
